Demo mode in Kiriki

Planet KDE Apr 13, 2010

Another day in Akademy-BR !

After I woke up, I got to one of the hacking rooms and, then, had an idea: add demo mode in Kiriki. After thinking a bit, I started working on it.

After some problems, the patch is finally ready. Let's take a look on it:

Note the new menu Move. That is where demo is started. It looks like this:

The game runs automatically in demo mode until it ends and, then, starts another demo a couple of seconds later. Note, also, that the Roll button is switched by the New button and the text on the status bar, informing the user that that's a demo running.

By default, Kiriki starts up already at demo mode. If you don’t want this to happen, you can unset demo at startup on the configs:

Well, that’s it. You can see the rest here or get the patch here and apply it.

Thanks to Parker Coates for the quick review and to Mauricio Piacentini, who helped me on Akademy-BR to create the menu for demo.

See you planet !
